Summary:

Stationed on the manufacturing floor, this position will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes and systems to improve and maintain the quality of the products and keep production costs down.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing, planning, and executing workflow, space requirements, equipment and stock layout and others.
  • Creation and improvement of tools or processes to ensure product quality.
  • Work effectively, as part of a team, in a unionized environment to ensure quality and productivity
  • Efficient utilization of manufacturing equipment.
  • Being responsible for regulatory compliance for the manufacturing plant.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • An Engineering degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Refrigeration or air conditioning manufacturing experience considered an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Summary:

This role will be responsible for designing customer orders and participating in product research and development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Engineering customer orders: including capacity calculation, refrigeration component selection and system design. May involve designing sheet metals, piping, electrical wiring diagrams and detailed assembly drawings.
  • Creation and management of engineering bill of materials.
  • Providing technical support to production and sales.
  • Research and development works: including new design or improvement of existing design of components or systems. Prototyping, lab testing, data analysis, solution searching are typical processes.
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Refrigeration or air conditioning experience considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Excel and in at least one of 3D drafting platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hand-on and result-oriented work ethic.
