ENGINEERING DESIGNER

Summary:

This role will be responsible for engineering and designing customer orders. These duties include: capacity calculation, component selection, the use of AutoCAD and other related software to design parts, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings. The individual will work closely with industrial engineering, production and lab technicians to ensure efficiency and resolve any problems with customer orders.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Engineering customer order: including capacity calculation, refrigeration component selection. For some special orders, new parts design using AutoCAD and Solid Edge is needed, including sheet metals, tubes, electrical wiring diagrams and detailed assembly drawings
  • Responsible for ensuring timely releases of orders to production/ manufacturing department
  • Solving production problems: working with industrial engineering and production department to optimize material usage and assembly processes, and to solve any problems
  • R&D Project Works: including heat transfer and fluid dynamics calculation, new component and parts selection, cost optimization, new products design, preparing all drawings and setting up bill of materials
  • R&D Lab Works: including some lab tests, some new lab equipment selection or design and setting up of equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of 2-D and 3-D CAD software
  • Refrigeration background and or experience considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products and proficient in computer use

OFFICE SHIPPING CLERK

Summary: This position will be responsible for shipping customer orders utilizing Jobscope (AS400) and Microsoft office programs. Liaison and communicate with various transportation companies and customers as well as internal department and sales personnel as required. Create, organize and issue shipping and customs documents.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Create, print and issue pick documents for warehouse and service personnel.
  • Coordinate product transfers from external warehouses.
  • Process shipping documents and contact carriers for all outbound shipments.
  • Prepare customs papers for export shipments.
  • Arrange customer pick up of ready orders. Liaison between carriers, customers, etc.
  • Review outstanding customer orders, expedite and advise customers concerning late orders.
  • Monitor the Open Order Report on all incoming orders and shipments and attend the Production Meetings.
  • Respond to all incoming calls and emails as efficiently as possible, and ensure that all callbacks are made within one hour.
  • Forward customer production questions to the Scheduling Coordinator or designate.
  • Maintain a filing system of all shipping and call reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

  • High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience in a shipping and logistics environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products and proficient in computer use
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and people skills

PRODUCT/ PROCESS ENGINEER

Summary:

This role will be responsible for acting as a liaison between engineering and production, updating and maintaining engineering/ order processes and providing technical and production support to other departments.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Act as Liaison between Engineering and Production
  • Update and maintain Engineering/order processes and VBA programs
  • Responsible for the creation and management of engineering bills of materials for designated product lines, ensuring accuracy and quality.

  • Design and drafting of required sheet metal, piping and assemblies using 2-D and 3-D CAD programs
  • Creation of job specific piping schematics and wiring diagrams

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Manufacturing/ Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist Diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of 2-D and 3-D CAD software
  • Minimum 5+ years in a manufacturing facility
  • Strong working knowledge/ experience in engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Refrigeration background and or experience considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products and proficient in computer use

  • Responsible for the creation and management of engineering bill of materials for designated product lines, ensuring accuracy and quality, and its release to production
  • Receive, interpret and respond to sales or customer product-related inquiries via phone, fax, e-mail and other electronic means
  • Prepare quotations for customers and external sales personnel
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation
  • Liaison between contractors, customers, sales, engineering and manufacturing groups

We are looking for a refrigeration mechanic who wants to consider making a move "inside". This role will primarily be responsible for providing front line technical support to sales, contractors and customers for various products and services offered by the company. Qualified candidates must have good people skills and be comfortable answering commercial refrigeration inquiries. The individual must also travel to occasional job site to solve problems with local refrigeration contractors. KeepRite Refrigeration products include unit coolers/ evaporators, condensing units, multi-compressor distributed systems, racks, air-cooled condensers, and fluid coolers.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Offer technical support/ troubleshooting expertise for field issues by phone or other electronic means and occasionally in person
  • Receive, interpret and respond to sales or customer product-related inquiries.
  • Design refrigeration systems and select equipment based on parameters supplied or industry standards.
  • Prepare quotations for customers and external sales personnel.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate and participate in regular meetings with fellow team members within product groups.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Refrigeration License (313A) or Mechanical Engineering Technician Graduation Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ Years of Refrigeration background or related experience
  • Hands on refrigeration application knowledge or field trouble-shooting experience
  • Commercial Refrigeration experience considered an asset
  • Possess a valid passport with ability to travel occasionally in Canada or the U.S
