PRODUCTION TECHNICIANS (AFTERNOON SHIFT)

Summary:

As a team player, you will be working in a flexible manufacturing environment, operating large machines and various tools for the manufacture of commercial refrigeration equipment. You will ensure that all materials and work performed adheres to organizational standards, safety regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Abide by designated organizational, as well as provincial safety guidelines, at all times;
  • Follow all production procedures, as instructed, and perform all work to manufacturing specifications
  • Work effectively, as part of a team, in a unionized environment to ensure quality and productivity
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools related to the manufacture of commercial refrigeration equipment;
  • Ensure the daily and weekly production schedule is adhered to
  • Participate in educational and training sessions as necessary;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools;
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes
  • College diploma, with preference given to industrial or mechanical engineering, electrical or HVACR, or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Past brazing experience an asset
  • Committed to quality and safety
  • Flexible and adaptable to regular changes in assigned tasks
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced, labour-intensive manufacturing environment

Core Physical requirements include the ability to:

  • Stand for the full shift (10 hours)
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift
  • Bend and twist regularly throughout the shift
  • Climb ladders regularly throughout the shift
  • Use various hand & power tools regularly throughout the shift

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 4:00 pm - 2:30 am

Wages: As per the CBA (Current Starting Rate: $21.20 + 0.91 cents shift premium, top rate currently reached at 4 years - Current Top Rate: $30.28 + 0.91 cents shift premium)

REFRIGERATION DESIGN ENGINEER

Summary:

This role will be responsible for engineering and designing customer orders. These duties include: capacity calculation, component selection, the use of AutoCAD and other related software to design parts, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings. The individual will work closely with industrial engineering, production, and lab technicians to ensure efficiency and resolve any problems with customer orders.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Engineering customer order: including capacity calculation, refrigeration component selection. For some special orders, new parts design using AutoCAD and Solid Edge is needed, including sheet metals, tubes, electrical wiring diagrams and detailed assembly drawings
  • Responsible for the creation and management of engineering bill of materials for designated product lines, ensuring accuracy and quality, and its timely release to production / manufacturing department.
  • Solving Production problems: working with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Department to optimize the material usage and assembly process, and to solve any problems.
  • Research and Development project works: including heat transfer and fluid dynamics calculation, new components and parts selection, cost optimization, new products design, preparing all drawings, setting up bills of materials.
  • Research and development lab work: including lab tests, lab equipment selection or design and equipment set-up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of 2-D and 3-D CAD software
  • Refrigeration background and or experience considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products and proficient in computer use
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

REFRIGERATION PRODUCT SPECIALIST

Summary: This role will be responsible for front line technical support to sales, contractors, and customers for products and services offered by the company. KeepRite Refrigeration products include unit coolers/ evaporators, condensing units, multi-compressor distributed systems, racks, air-cooled condensers, and fluid coolers. The successful candidate will be assisting our rack team. Experience in supermarket type equipment considered an asset.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Receive, interpret, and respond to sales or customer product related inquiries.
  • Design refrigeration systems and select equipment based on parameters supplied or industry standards.
  • Prepare quotations for customers and external sales personnel.
  • Offer technical support/troubleshooting expertise for field issues in person, by phone, or other electronic measures.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation.
  • Participate in regular meetings with fellow team members within product groups.
  • Liaison between contractors, customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing groups.
  • Willing to travel to offer technical support when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree/ Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ Years of Refrigeration background or related experience
  • Strong working knowledge of refrigeration systems/ components and how to apply them
  • Commercial Refrigeration experience considered an asset
  • Experience in supermarket type equipment considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products and proficient in computer use
  • Possess a valid passport with ability to cross between Canada and USA
