Energy Calculator Tutorial #2 – Adding a Second Condensing Unit and Comparing Energy Use

KeepRite Refrigeration Energy Calculator

The beauty of KeepRite Refrigeration’s Energy Calculator is how it can utilize energy costs and weather data for most major North American cities allowing refrigeration professionals to easily create and compare “What if” scenarios that best fit their needs. Now that you know how to set your location and add a condensing unit, to truly evaluate your ROI scenarios you need to add a second condensing unit in order to compare their energy usage.

To add your second condensing unit, click on the “Add Condensing Unit To Compare” button. This will prompt a second set of drop downs to appear, similar to when you added the first condensing unit. Again, fill in the fields by selecting the appropriate choice that matches the condensing unit you wish to compare against your first unit including the model type, application, compressor brand, motor type and lastly, a model number.

Once all of the fields have a selection assigned to them, you will need to click “Add Condensing Unit To Compare” one last time. This will result in showing you your second condensing unit’s estimated energy usage and operating cost to compare against your first condensing unit’s set of information.

And that’s how you add a second condensing unit using our Energy Calculator to compare energy use between two condensing units. Stay tuned for our next blog that will demonstrate how to add an evaporator to view its energy usage. Try using our Energy Calculator today and discover your savings!
