ESP+ Tutorial #1 – Viewing Pre-Programmed Settings

ESP+ Intuitive Evaporator Control Technology

KeepRite Refrigeration’s ESP+ intuitive evaporator control technology is designed to replace traditional electro-mechanical refrigeration controls typically used on medium and low temperature applications.

Now that this innovative technology is available on most KeepRite Refrigeration evaporators, we want all of our customers to understand everything there is to know and setup about ESP+ starting with how to navigate and view the pre-programmed settings.

Since your ESP+ is pre-programmed at the factory it can begin operating as soon as power is applied. To view the settings that were arranged in the factory, press and hold “ENTER” until “tS”, which stands for “temperature setpoint”, appears on the display board.

The first setpoint can be viewed by pressing “ENTER” and will always be whatever was ordered and set at the factory, usually -10F for a freezer or +35F for a cooler. Once you have identified the first setpoint, you can press “BACK” to return to the “tS” screen.

From here, you can also see the refrigerant being used by using the “” and “” arrows until you see “rFG”. Simply press “ENTER” to view the current refrigerant setpoint which will again be whatever was ordered and set at the factory such as 404A. Press “BACK” to return to the previous screen.

You will also want to see the type of defrost currently setup by using the “” and “” arrows again until you see “dtY” acronym, standing for defrost type. Once you press “ENTER” the defrost type will appear as either “Air” or “ELE” standing for electric depending on what was ordered.

Continue to press “BACK” repeatedly until you reach the home screen. Now that you know how to view the pre-programmed basic settings on your ESP+, you will need to understand what each status indicator light means. Stay tuned for those instructions coming soon!
